- Does The Forager identify mushrooms or plants for me?
- No — The Forager is a personal foraging journal, not an identification tool. You record what you have already identified, where you found it, and your notes. Always verify the safety of any wild food with a qualified expert before eating it.
- Where is my data stored?
- On your device only. The Forager does not sync anything to the cloud and does not require an account. Your discovery names, locations, photos and notes never leave your phone unless you choose to share them.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no profile to manage. Open the app and start logging your finds.
- Is The Forager available on iOS and Android?
- Yes — The Forager runs on both iPhone (via the App Store) and Android (via Google Play), with the same private-by-design experience on each platform.
- Does the app work offline?
- Your discoveries are stored on your device and remain accessible offline. The map view uses Google Maps tiles, which require an internet connection to load fresh map imagery — but your existing pins, photos and notes are always available.
